Christine Mummery Board Member and Naomi Ellemers Member of KNAW
Professor Christine Mummery has been appointed Board Member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Professor Naomi Ellemers will become a member of KNAW.
Professor Christine Mummery will become a Board Member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Science (KNAW) with effect from 1 June. Mummery is Professor of Development Biology at the Leiden University Medical Center and an international expert in the field of stem cell research. She is one of the leaders of Leiden University's Vascular and Regenerative Medicine research profile area. The new KNAW Board will commence its four-year term of office on 1 June. The Board will be officially installed on 26 September. Robbert Dijkgraaf will remain President of KNAW and Chairman of the Board.
Professor Naomi Ellemers, Leiden Professor of Social Psychology of the Organisation and winner of the 2010 Spinoza Prize, will become a member of KNAW in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. The members of KNAW have elected 20 new members. Elections take place annually and are based on academic performance and on the advocacy of the academic community.
